Current vacancies for employment are advertised on this website and through other media including through the Institute of Barristers' Clerks, Counsel magazine and recruitment agencies. Please see the News section on the homepage.

Pupillage

Chambers recruits up to three pupils a year. We offer a £10,000 grant plus good second six earnings. Chambers accept applications through the OLPAS system. Click here for more details.

Mini-Pupillage

The Mini Pupillage scheme at 1 Pump Court runs from June until September.

Applicants over 18 at the time of their placement are asked to apply in November by sending a covering letter and a brief CV by email to Deborah Gardner-Wood at dgw@1pumpcourt.co.uk. They are asked to advise if there are any dates that they need to avoid and which areas of law they are interested in. Applications are dealt in date order of receipt on a “first come – first served” basis. Places are then allocated in December for the following summer. Due to heavy demands the placements are for one week.

We also have a Reserve List once all our places are full as students occasionally have to drop out and we can therefore offer the week to another applicant from that list. 

We are unable to accept any further applications for 2012 as due to unprecedented demand the Mini Pupillage scheme and Reserve List are now full.
